Nathan provides clinical supervision for those seeking licensure in the state of Iowa, particularly focused on working with couples and marriages.
It can be difficult and sometimes unmanageable to cope with hopelessness, anxiety, and other stressors in daily life. I work with individuals, couples, children, adolescents, and families to cope with, understand, and overcome these stressors. The goal of my work is to establish trust and working relationships to educate about the impact on mental health, how to manage stressors, and how to identify preventative techniques for addressing those issues.

For teenagers and adults, I work in a mainly individual setting. For children, I often use play therapy techniques because little ones truly thrive through play. I routinely incorporate you, the caregivers in a portion of the session structure because your input is valuable to me.
You’ve already taken a big step towards personal healing by researching therapist options. 🙂 The best way to reach out to me is through the "email" option on this profile. -Fun fact about me: I enjoy singing lessons, and cuddling with my two cats.

I believe that by deepening our understanding of ourselves, we can unlock the tools we need to thrive. By providing space to express past traumas, confusing life circumstances, I offer a meaningful and tailored healing experience for each client. My practice is client-centered, utilizing integrative therapies with holistic mindfulness-based approaches. I am culturally competent and welcome clients from all walks of life.

As a counselor, I’m here to encourage you in that truth and to provide the therapeutic support you're seeking. My approach is compassionate, grounded, and tailored to meet you where you are.
I specialize in working with individuals who have experienced toxic or narcissistic relationships, as well as adults navigating strained parent-child dynamics. I also support clients who are dealing with both soft and hard addictions, anxiety, aging-related concerns, attachment challenges, boundary-setting difficulties, chronic avoidance or procrastination, ADHD, trauma, PTSD, and unresolved father- or mother-related issues.
In our work together, I draw from evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). I also incorporate bibliotherapy and psychoeducation into the process to enhance insight and growth.
For those who desire it, I’m happy to integrate a faith-based perspective into our sessions, offering spiritual support blended into, or alongside, clinical care.

She primarily utilizes Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Adlerian Play Therapy in her work, tailoring her approach to meet each client’s unique needs. Elizabeth is currently working toward becoming a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) and has completed Level One of Adlerian Play Therapy Training.
Believing that no two individuals experience mental health challenges in the same way, Elizabeth draws from a variety of treatment modalities to provide personalized and effective care. Her therapeutic focus is on creating a safe, supportive, and validating space where clients can feel heard, understood, and empowered in their healing journey

challenges, by providing a safe space to express themselves. I’ve worked in a variety of
mental health settings since 2013 and integrate those experiences into my therapeutic
practice. I adjust my approach to meet clients’ needs using tools that help people
engage in self-reflection, problem solving, and skill building to understand the
capabilities they have to make change and move forward.
Through social work practices I focus on resource building and self-determination for
the client to guide the direction of their therapy. As a registered dance/movement
therapist I focus on movement interventions mixed with writing and/or drawing exercises
or music to show how if we move differently, we can change what we think and how we
feel.
My training includes Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and
Seeking Safety, and I earned my Masters in Social Work from the University of Southern
California. Primary issues I’ve supported clients through include depression, anxiety,
PTSD, interpersonal conflict, life transitions, grief, and chronic health issues.

Eating and mood disorders, self-esteem, life transitions, and peer and/or family relationships are areas I have more expertise in. I apply Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) while incorporating some Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) techniques under the eyes of a Person-Centered approach. We will focus on the thought patterns that contribute to your emotion and experience while learning to apply mindfulness and grace to yourself all while you are the expert in the session.
Not only do I offer a safe and supportive space for you to be vulnerable in, but I also offer a space for you to come as you are meaning WE will take the therapeutic process at YOUR own pace. I believe YOU are the expects of your own life while I am here just to guide you along the way by challenging you to see the situation from a new angle.

Depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, explosive anger, relationship problems, and addiction are the natural consequences of trauma. You don't deserve to feel like this. Help and support is available whenever you are ready.
I believe it is a privilege and an honor to accompany those I work with along their journey to their most authentic and true self. I find myself in constant awe of the resiliency of the human spirit and the power of family, including chosen family. I strive to empower those I serve to find and develop their strengths in order to make themselves whole again.

My approach is integrative using strength based, I.F.S. (Internal Family Systems), and C.B.T. (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy).
Change is possible and my goal is to work together to inspire hope and help you discover the tools you need to solve your unique concerns. Let's explore the possibilities together.

Unprocessed memories may trigger body sensations that dictate how you respond to your world. If these responses to triggers are presenting problems in your life, there is hope in minimizing those stored negative body sensations that are presenting a problem.
