My goal is to support adults, whether managing everyday stressors or significant life
challenges, by providing a safe space to express themselves. I’ve worked in a variety of
mental health settings since 2013 and integrate those experiences into my therapeutic
practice. I adjust my approach to meet clients’ needs using tools that help people
engage in self-reflection, problem solving, and skill building to understand the
capabilities they have to make change and move forward.
Through social work practices I focus on resource building and self-determination for
the client to guide the direction of their therapy. As a registered dance/movement
therapist I focus on movement interventions mixed with writing and/or drawing exercises
or music to show how if we move differently, we can change what we think and how we
feel.
My training includes Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and
Seeking Safety, and I earned my Masters in Social Work from the University of Southern
California. Primary issues I’ve supported clients through include depression, anxiety,
PTSD, interpersonal conflict, life transitions, grief, and chronic health issues.

An ideal client is one that understands that therapy is not just for affirming, but rather a challenging process to help correct negative thinking patterns and habits that cause distress in their lives. A client deserves support, care, and sometimes a person to just listen to, but therapy is not for individuals that want someone to be a "yes sir" or "yes ma'am" to everything they believe in. I firmly believe that those that seek therapy do so because something is not congruent in their life at this point, and need guidance to be able to see what is just outside of their vision. Blindly agreeing with someone does not achieve this.
I can help individuals by listening to their story and invest in the person emotionally and with empathy. I can help challenge what is known as negative thinking patterns to help create a more stable sense of self and reality.
I encourage anyone who understands that therapy, in and of itself, is a working relationship and is ready to work on improving themselves and their lives. I will be more than happy to help guide you on a path to the type of stable life and relationships that you wish to build.

Trauma comes in many forms. Whether it's the death of a loved one, abuse & violence, DHS involvement, a bad breakup, chronic illness, criminal justice involvement, chemical dependency, or loss of parental rights; experiencing trauma can feel very isolating. You might find yourself feeling detached from others or having difficulty developing authentic connections with people. Maybe you feel lost and uncertain about how to carry on. Or maybe you're finding yourself lashing out at others with little or no reason. Somedays it can feel like nobody understands your pain or how broken you feel.

Depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, explosive anger, relationship problems, and addiction are the natural consequences of trauma. You don't deserve to feel like this. Help and support is available whenever you are ready.

I believe it is a privilege and an honor to accompany those I work with along their journey to their most authentic and true self. I find myself in constant awe of the resiliency of the human spirit and the power of family, including chosen family. I strive to empower those I serve to find and develop their strengths in order to make themselves whole again.

I provide a very straight-forward and direct solution focused approach for addressing barriers of life. I understand that sometimes we all can use a safe space to process situations that come along with being human in a sometimes less than humane world. I provide guidance through instructing the use of various breathing exercises, grounding, stabilization, and relaxation techniques to provide clients with tools for minimizing stress responses.
I am a licensed therapist, certified trauma professional, and Veteran, who utilizes an integrated approach of several evidence-based body therapy techniques including, but not limited to somatic experiencing and bi-lateral therapies. I specialize in teaching tools for reducing negative symptoms of trauma as well as depression and anxiety disorders.
Unprocessed memories may trigger body sensations that dictate how you respond to your world. If these responses to triggers are presenting problems in your life, there is hope in minimizing those stored negative body sensations that are presenting a problem.
